ABOUT ARF SEPA   >   BACKGROUND

The Animal Rescue Foundation of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Inc. is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the welfare of orphaned and at-risk companion pets.  ARF SEPA was formed by experienced shelter and rescue volunteers who are working to improve rescue, increase adoptions and launch comprehensive spay/neuter programs that are available to all income levels in southeastern Pennsylvania.

ARF SEPA volunteers rescue orphaned pets from public shelters that must euthanize to create space.  All rescued pets receive complete veterinary care, including an examination, vaccinations and testing, medications and spay/neuter prior to adoption.  Pets reside in a foster home until adopted, as long as that takes.  ARF SEPA does not euthanize animals to create space for new ones.

Animal Rescue Foundation of Southeastern Pennsylvania also funds programs, such as our mobile spay/neuter clinic that targets areas with the most unaltered cats and dogs.  ARF SEPA also funds programs to assist low-income pet owners and at-risk pets, to educate the public on proper pet care and to promote rescue pets versus pet stores or puppy-mill breeders.

ARF SEPA is incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is registered with the Department of State.  ARF SEPA has 501(c)(3)status.   Donations to ARF SEPA are now tax-deductible.
